Knox County Public Library is sponsoring the fourth annual Trivia Night on Saturday, July 31st from 7-10pm in the Fortnightly Club building, located at 421 N. 6th St. in Vincennes. This is a casual quiz bowl open to teams of four people. The $20 per person entry fee helps purchase materials for adults in the library’s literacy program. All male student-athletes wanting to play tennis, please report to the Vincennes Lincoln High School tennis courts at 9am on Monday, August 2nd. Practice will take place during that time everyday until school starts. Make sure you have a physical on file or bring your physical with you, or you will not be eligible to practice. Practice will be over around 10:30am. New Head Coach Nathan McClung is looking forward to meeting all Boys Tennis players.

The 125th Odon Old Settlers Days will take place at the Odon City Park in Odon, IN from Tuesday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 7th. Free Parking, Free Admission, & Free Entertainment for the whole family. Gary Lewis and the Playboys will perform at 8:30pm Tuesday, August 3rd. “Fruit of the Spirit” Vacation Bible School at the Christian Church in Alfordsville for youth ages 4-18 Wednesday-Friday August 4th-6th from 6:30-8:30pm.

Angel Mounds State Historic Site presents Bluegrass & Barbecue on Saturday August 7th, from 3 - 8 pm. This year’s show will feature talents such as Kentuckiana Grass, King’s Highway and Spare Change Bluegrass. Bring your own blanket or outdoor seating for this concert, which will be moved indoors in the event of rain. The Old Cathedral Catholic Church is having a Longaberger & Vera Bradley Bingo on Sunday, August 8th in their parish center located across from city hall. Bingo begins at 1pm and doors open at Noon. Cost is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased as Old National Bank, Broadway Styling Salon, Integra Bank or the church office. Concessions will be available as well as raffle, tips & a 50/50 drawing.

God’s Pantry, the food pantry located at the Oaktown First Christian Church in Oaktown, IN will reopen on Tuesday, August 10th at 7pm which is the regularly scheduled day for the pantry.

The Christian Educational Foundation will be holding the upcoming Germanfest on Friday, August 13th and Saturday, August 14th.  The event will take place from 6pm to 12:30am at Highland Woods Park. Entertainment for both nights includes the Jay Fox Band, including Rivet graduate Tom Pea impersonating Elvis. The event is open to the public. Must be at least 21 years of age to attend. Proceeds from this event help the Christian Educational Foundation provide support to the Vincennes Catholic Schools. The 6th Annual Warrick County Humane Society Dogs & Suds will take place Saturday, August 14th, from 5-10 p.m. at the Old Lock and Dam Park, on the river front. The 2nd annual 5K run/walk steps off at 7 p.m.  Registration for the 5K is available online at www.warrickhumanesociety.org or at the Greater Evansville Running and Walking Club web page www.gerwc.com/race_information.html. Dog owners are encouraged to run with their dogs. Water stations will be available along the route. Dog walkers can strap on their harnesses and raise money for Warrick Humane Society, too. A bicentennial commemoration of the fateful 1810-11 meetings between Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison in Vincennes will be held on Saturday, August 21st at Grouseland, Harrison’s presidential home and territorial governor’s mansion. The Vincennes events will include the dedication of Grouseland’s new commemorative historical park, “Walnut Grove,” at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) and the accompanying “1810 Camp Fire Council at the Grove,” a family-oriented living history experience that will run from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.  Both events are free and open to the public. Grouseland is located at the corner of First and Scott streets, adjacent to the Wabash River, VU campus, and the Vincennes State Historic Sites.

The Vincennes YMCA, located at 2010 College Avenue in Vincennes, will have a FISH FRY dinner on Saturday, August 21st from 4:30-7:30pm.  The menu includes fish, coleslaw, chips a drink and dessert. All proceeds provide financial assistance for membership and programs for children in need. Tickets are available at the Y. The cost is $10 for Adults and for $6 Children under 10.

The 34th Annual Fall Tri-State Bluegrass Festival will be held over the Labor Day weekend, September 2-5 at the Noble County Fairgrounds in Kendallville, IN. One dozen bands from eight states and one foreign country will perform more than 29 hours of music on an outdoor stage. Featured at this year's festival is The Freight Hoppers, the Tommy Webb Band, Palmer Divide, and, from France, the Blue Railroad Train.
